. . . and you must know about this spooktacular book, Big Pumpkin. Interested in pumpkin pie, the witch plants a pumpkin seed. The pumpkin grows and grows and is so big that no one is able to pull it off the vine. Then, the bat has an idea! Will there be pumpkin pie after all?
Children will love the spooks found in this book. Schindler's illustrations are excellent. Also, Silverman's repetition and predictability allow children to chime in and read right along with you. In addition, the book is a wonderful introduction to a discussion about everyone having great ideas and that cooperation is a useful tool. No tricks, this book is definitely a real treat!
